Prost!

Last weekend was the first weekend I spent outside of Paris! I went to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest. It was absolutely nuts. First of all, staying out til 6 am the night before a flight is not the best idea. We ended up waking up late for our flight, and rushed out of the apartment in 7 minutes (impressive, huh?) and made our flight!

The festival is MASSIVE. And everybody is in their lederhosen and dirndls and it is hilarious. It’s exactly how you would imagine it to be, tons of beer halls, beer gardens, rides, and inebriated Bavarians. Aka, a good fucking time. 4 liters of beer later, I was lost by myself with a bratwurst in one hand and a pretzel in another. Those liters are deadly.

Met some nice German boys who took us to an “After-Wiesn Party” on Friday night, and then one of them was even nice enough to take us around to the English Gardens and downtown Munich on Sunday. It was an experience I will never forget, even though it is already a bit fuzzy, but I was definitely eager to come back to Paris. I did not realize how much I would miss this city, but even one weekend away was giving me separation anxiety..I can’t even imagine how I’m going to feel once I’m back in California. Sigh.

So, I just finished week two of being here in Paris, and I feel completely settled in and am already worried that time is going by too fast! I’ve definitely been indulging myself with as many baguettes, crepes, and pastries as possible, so it’s great that I get to walk everywhere. Just in one week I have visited the Latin Quartier, the Marais, the Centre Pompidou, Montmartre, the Sacre-Coeur, Versailles, the Dalí museum, Belleville, the Mosque, and Père Lachaise. I’m meeting a lot of new people, going out almost every night, and getting absolutely no sleep. Definitely trying to stay out of this tiny apartment as much as I can.

Paris, Je T’aime

Alright so I have been in Paris for 5 days now, and it has been more than amazing! Literally, it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I have been going to numerous orientations and am all moved in to my tiny little studio in the 12th arrondissement, but have also been definitely making the most of my time here and drinking a lot of wine. So far I have visited the Notre-Dame, the Eiffel tower, the Tuileries, and the outside of some other monuments. The city is just so aesthetically pleasing wherever you go! The bars and clubs are also super fun, and we got to go see Diplo last night which was a blast! Got home at 4:30 AM and still made it to my first 9 AM class. I love this city.

East Coast Love

So I FINALLY got to visit New Jersey again, and it has been years! I arrived at Newark and immediately hopped on another mini four-seater plane to Atlantic City for the air show. The next day I got to finally spend some time in the city and spent the night at a bar with old friends in the Upper East Side…although it is somewhat of a blur, it was a great time. The rest of the week consisted of shopping in SoHo, eating in Central Park, going the the Jersey Shore, etc. Basically, I am definitely moving to the city after school.
